Situation

An ex-US mental health start-up needed our assistance to build and validate a US go-to-market (GTM) approach. The company was developing a novel digital assessment and digital therapeutic in generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and major depressive disorder (MDD).

Action

Our team conducted extensive secondary research to characterize the landscape for digital mental health solutions, as well as identify and assess the top business models. We Identified 3 established and 5 emerging business models as well as 10 major customers and 37 sub-segments to prioritize based on a framework of criteria developed with the client. We then prioritized an ultimate buyer via 3 different channels and estimated the overall market potential. We further validated our work with qualitative primary market research and additional secondary research.

In the final phase of the project, we outlined 3 potential parallel GTM strategies focused on a top priority customer providing optionality to achieve near-term revenue and long-term peak revenue. We developed an outline of the business timeline, expectations, and requirements for implementing the approach to drive next steps

Results

Our team provided the client with a comprehensive, research-validated roadmap for near- and long-term success in the US market. We also helped the client determine the investments needed to execute the strategy.
