I have a PhD in Biochemistry and have been working in healthcare consulting since 2010, with a special focus on commercial and medical strategy. My work at Blue Matter allows me to fulfill my passion for learning about new medicines, technologies, and approaches to improving patient outcomes. I particularly enjoy collaborating with my clients on a daily basis to understand and solve their business needs. Our team is incredibly smart, creative, and fun, and it’s gratifying to be able to mentor consultants and work together to build strong project teams. Outside of Blue Matter, I take advantage of the Bay Area and am active during the weekends – going hiking, cross-country skiing, or wine tasting. I also enjoy cooking, especially with friends. What I value most about Blue Matter is how we have a culture that lets personalities shine, and we embrace each others’ uniqueness - that permeates into our interactions with each other and our clients.

After completing my Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology, I spent a year traveling before embarking on life sciences consulting. I wasn’t sure if I’d be a career consultant based on my early consulting experiences, but it has been a true pleasure being on the Blue Matter team since 2015. Personally, it’s been rewarding to closely partner with and help clients build better organizations, deliver innovative therapies to patients, and solve tangible commercial and medical issues. What I value most here is the friendly, familial, and inclusive culture. My colleagues are jovial and empathetic, and leadership is approachable and transparent. We all have a voice in shaping the future of Blue Matter, and I love that we do charitable work in the community. Work-life balance is highly valued. Plus, we have the most fun team-building events! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my toddler, camping, hiking, the beach, and going to concerts across all genres, particularly progressive house and minimal techno.

My path to Blue Matter was not a direct one. Before deciding to work in the life sciences, I completed a 3-year apprenticeship as a chef in one of Zurich’s best restaurants, so I’m a certified chef! However, I changed gears and earned my master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from ETH Zurich, then spent time at Roche before joining Blue Matter. I joined the team because I wanted an environment of constant professional and personal growth. The great team chemistry also makes it an amazing place to work. Since joining Blue Matter, I’ve worked on global forecasts for rare disease drugs, a range of organizational change and restructuring projects, several oncology launch evidence plans and needs assessments, and more. The work is varied and interesting. When not working, my favorite pastime is Street Workout. I spend hours each week learning new routines. I also like to grow bonsai trees, lead alpine tours and hikes, and play Magic: The Gathering (a card game).

After many years of strategy consulting in life sciences with mid-sized to large consultancies, it is exciting to be a part of a team where everyone, from associates to partners, plays an active role in shaping the company’s future. At Blue Matter, I particularly enjoy working with project members from a diverse set of backgrounds, all bringing their unique perspective. We work jointly to address complex challenges for our clients and develop actionable recommendations leading to real world impact. What I value most about Blue Matter is the open and empowering culture which creates a unique environment where everyone is encouraged to “act like an owner” and take the lead on driving change that will make Blue Matter a better place. Outside of Blue Matter, I enjoy exploring new travel destinations, skiing, biking, and attempting to grill a perfect burger.

I joined Blue Matter London in 2016 upon completing my master's degree. No project experience is quite like another at Blue Matter: Our client teams, the business problems we address, and team members we work with change frequently, which provides a great opportunity to continuously grow and challenge ourselves. What doesn't change, and makes Blue Matter special for me, are the incredibly smart and fun team members who have their hearts at the right place. At Blue Matter, we are also continuously encouraged to shape our culture and how we work, which creates a feeling of ownership and freedom to try finding better ways of doing things.

After graduating from UPenn with a BSE in Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering, I pursued a career in life sciences consulting. What really drew me to Blue Matter was the culture. As a consultant, I had the opportunity to help build the New York office and shape the company. Since joining the team in 2017, I find myself constantly challenged, sometimes by project work itself and other times by my role on a project. Further, I find that management is very receptive to my needs and will provide me with opportunities for professional development. I enjoy partnering with clients to address their business needs and I feel I am able to personally make an impact on each project. Outside of Blue Matter, I enjoy cooking, hiking and traveling, having most recently gone on safari in South Africa.
