A large pharmaceutical company undergoing large-scale organizational change required assistance redesigning the operating model across several Global Commercial Operations functions.
Action
Our team began by understanding the client’s current state. This included their current responsibilities, workload, processes/tools and internal/external partners, as well as mapping out the related pain points and best practices. We also aligned on the client’s future needs and priorities, and gaps to be addressed to meet them. Our team then developed potential operating model options, including roles, responsibilities, capabilities, and headcount. We evaluated the potential options and developed an assessment report, including the organizational impact, risks, pros, and cons. Finally, we developed a transition plan to the newly selected operating model and supported its implementation.
Results
The updated operating model enabled the teams to deliver against all targets within the following three years and team happiness increased by ~40%.
