Damien Downes has a background in scientific research as well as consulting. Prior to joining Blue Matter in 2022, he spent 7 years as a research scientist at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine. He also has several years of experience as a genomics consultant. Damien earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics at Kansas State University. He also has a B.Sc. in Genetics from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.
